A Trip to the Park

Today, we bundled up and headed to the small playground next to the Smyrna library.  Of course, Parker always has a great time when he can crawl in a wide open space.  He also had a great time on the slide.

 Here come by boys!
 There go my boys!

 There he.....

 Big 'ol blue eyes.
We came home, had some lunch and then Parker went down for nap.  He woke up a big, big grouch.  After fishing around in his mouth, we realized he was getting two more teeth - maybe more.  He didn't let us fish around too long.

KangaZoom is KangaRiffic

Look at that smile - makes me want to give KangaZoom all of my money.  :)

SOooo excited to see Daddy and give him a big hug.
 On the go...

 Peek-a-boo, Mommy!

Why did Daddy leave to change his clothes? I am SO mad!
 Sliding, sliding

I wanna play on the big boy slide.  I'll just try to climb up myself.
 Okay, Dad, you can help.
Let me go.  I want to slide on my own!
 Weeeeeeee!!!!
 Again, so fun!

 Parker loves pizza dough!

Tonight, Jared met me and Parker at KangaZoom, a Smyrna jump place.  It was Parker's first time playing on inflatables, and he had a BLAST! He had such a fun time exploring the place.  He also had fun trying out all of the different toys.  After a while, he got pretty hot and pretty grouchy.  We probably stayed about 30 minutes, but it was a great experience.  He tried a few different bouncy things and went down the big slide.  It was fun because Jared and I were also allowed to play with him on the inflatables.

Snowpocalypse 2011

Atlanta got its first snow of 2011, and it's the most I've ever seen!  Sunday night, the night sky was filled with flurries.  Jared and I along with Jasmine went outside to witness our neighbors Alison and Brandon playing in the snow.  They are from CA, and this was their first snow.  It was so fun.  They were as excited as kids, making snow angels and throwing snow balls.

The next day the roads were covered in now, almost 6 inches of it!

Where is the road???

 Can you see the road???

No one was going anywhere.  Jared stayed home.  I canceled a meeting.  Parker stayed home.  Next thing you know, we are getting all bundled up to go outside!

Parker trying on Daddy's hat - so silly!

Jasmine LOVED the snow.  She ran around and was wild (for an old dog) and explored every bush she could.  Our neighbors, Walker and Sydney along with their dog, Sully, joined us outside.  Parker loved watching the dogs run around and be wild, but he really didn't have any cares of the snow.

Everything was covered up.  The cars, the plants.  It gave me an opportunity to try out some of the functions of my new lens.

New Year's Eve

As has been our tradition since we've been together (and when Jared wasn't working), we spent New Year's Eve with the Corns.  It was a tappas party.  Salmon chips, cheese and crackers, home made Krystals, and, something Jared and I were excited to share with the Corns, steamed oysters!  The Richardsons (Jared's family) steams 2 bushels of oysters every year at their Christmas get together.  I absolutely LOVE this ritual.  Everyone gathers around the shucking table, beer and shucker in hand, shooting the sh*t, shucking and eating oysters.  It is so much fun.  After attending one of these events, I knew I needed to marry Jared.  You just don't meet that many oyster loving families where I'm from.  All in all, it turned out to be a success at the Corns.  Eli certainly won the Jr. Shucker award.  He loved shucking and gobbling up the oysters.  He even found two pearls!

After the babies went to bed, the menfolk (Jamie and Jared) built a fire, and we went out and gobbled up roasted marshmellows and sat by the campfire (while GranJill snored the night away on the couch).  We made it upstairs just in time to toast in the new year with each other and Dick Clarke.  It was a great night with great friends.

Homebrew - yum!

 Uh-oh...
 Here....
 come....
 THE OYSTERS!!!

Spitting the pearls into Mom's hand

My mom letting me try my new lens on her.

The next day we feasted...and then napped...and then went home.  We had ham and collards, ham and cabbage, black eyed peas, macaroni and cheese and sweet tea.  It was delish!  One last day of gluttony before diets commence.
