Maternity Shoot

My friend Megan Case began a hobby in photography that has turned into much, much more. Now, she has her own photography business. When I found out I was pregnant, I talked to her about doing some maternity shots for me. Later she contacted me letting me know that her friend, Julie Harnage, was teaching a workshop and looking for some models. The photographers varied from amateurs to professionals, and this is what we got so far!

The Making of Parker's Nursery - Day 2

Today was the 2nd full day of work done on Parker's nursery. However, in saying that, I do not want to discount that my hubby put up the final coat of blue one day when I was at work. Today, he and Jamie installed the chair rail -- what a wonderful touch! And, I stenciled about 1/3 of the room in the polka dots.

Using the miter saw to cut the chair rail just right.

The rough draft before any caulking or touch ups.

The final piece of rail to be installed!

Jared doing some touch up work.

Caulking!

Finished chair rail -- it looks fantastic, guys!

More finished chair rail -- just so proud!

Me stenciling our polka dots -- they look great. I am so excited about the way the room is going to turn out!

Maine 2009

Who could resist a place called the Fun-O-Rama? It's the money pit my parents never would have taken me to. Although, I don't think any game cost over 50 cents!

Short Sands Beach - the most crowded beach I've ever seen!

Crowd, crowd, crowd!

Awe, yeah! I rocked Jared at a little skee ball - 4 games to 2 games!

Jared playing pin ball - the machines at the Fun O Rama were so 1980s. They even had the fortune teller game from Big.

Not quite the arm wrestler...

Luckily, Jared is good enough for the two of us!

Jared's very powerful score.

A Silver Dagger Bluegrass (partial) concert in the yard!

Grillmaster Brad

Keith & Carolyn chillaxing.

Matt & Ashleigh doing their thing.

Me, trying to take artsy pictures.

Nubble Lighthouse - Brad and his brothers used to climb the rocks and swim between the island and mainland. Lots of great family memories here.

Jared discovering treasures with Anna and Grace.

Watch out guys! Don't get splashed!

Anna leading the pack.

Grace, Sarah and Anna

The girls were quite the rock climbers. Here they are showing us what strong & powerful spider monkeys they are!

Happy to be climbing the rocks!

Jared and Anna

On top of the world!

We went to Maine with Jared's family for his grandfather's memorial. While we were there, we got to experience lots of family fun, seafood (lobsta and clams), discovering beaches very unlike those we regularly visit, walking and exploring in cool breezes, a lovely lighthouse and beautiful historic architecture. Jared's dad and his brothers and sister all used to vacation at York beach. It was a last family vacation there at Jared's grandfather's request. It was a very special trip. We ate at the family revered Newicks and saw some of the old family hangouts and ice cream shops. I wish we could have stayed longer.

The Making of Parker's Nursery - Day 1

The spare bedroom is finally empty! Let's clean it up and get it ready for Parker!!!

Jared scrubbed the baseboards to be sure that it was free of our other baby's hair...Jasmine!

Since we are not painting pros, gotta tape!

More taping...I helped too.

Our first coat of "cabbage green"...hoping this will bring much prosperity to us and Parker.

Gotta get those corners.

1st coat of cabbage green is done! Hooray!

Two coats of cabbage green done!

Painting our first coat of snowdrop and last coat of paint for the night. Look at that big ole belly!

Jared is pretty darn happy to be nearly done with our first coat of snowdrop.

Woo-hoo! Two coats of cabbage green and one coat of snowdrop down -- just one more coat of snowdrop, a chair rail and white polka dots on the green to go!

Jumping Belly

This morning Jared saw my belly jump for the first time. I've noticed it a few times over the last week. It was especially fun for him since he hadn't felt the baby move since father's day. After seeing my belly jump, he put his hand there and felt the baby kick. Fun times!
