Blog Update - Sandi is a Slacker!

Wow - there has been a lot going on with the Purinton crowd lately.  I just noticed that my last post was back in November!  Just a brief update:

Jared is doing great.  He is still working as a roving lieutenant.  Parker just turned two (in October), and he is starting to talk up a storm.  He knew all of his letters (upper and lower case) before he turned two, and he could count to twelve.  Who knows if that is impressive, but we were impressed.  We recently put a contract on a fabulous house.  It's a little further out that we'd hoped to by, but it had that WOW-factor when I walked in.  I have been a busy bee, working as a paralegal, house hunting and being a part time photographer.  It's been fun, but sometimes I am overwhelmed by it all!  I feel very fortunate that people choose me to take their pictures and help capture their cherished memories.

Below are some of my favorite photos from the past couple of months:

Parker and Ollie hanging out in the inflatable pool we found under our townhome.

Parker loves his Cheez-its.  He just looks so cute in the big chair!

Family portrait on the beach.

 The beautiful Corn family.

A Purinton family portrait - and one with GranJill.

Nikki turned 25+some while we were there - Happy Birthday!

 Parker's first hair cut!
I love that Parker carries his cars all crazy like this.
 Cutting hair must really hurt!
Our little tiger really loves bouncy houses.

Can you believe our little boy is 2?!?!?
 Blowing out the candless!

 Love this funny boy!
Parker - you may NOT bite Ollie.

Love this sweet little boy - so does Parker.
 My family - my heart
It's Parker's party, and he'll cry if he wants to!

Parker's First Movie

Yesterday, we took Parker to see Cars 2.  I kept declaring it the perfect day.  When we first arrived, he sat nestled in Jared's lap, mesmerized by the big screen, grabbing to the side for popcorn from the bag (without tearing his eyes away from the movie/preview/whatever was up there).  As the movie went on and on and on and on (not nearly so cute as the first), he grew bored and wanted to walk around a bit.  Since there were so few people there, we let him walk in between us.  He stood peering over the seat watching the movie.  It was a pretty fun time.

Uncle Matt's Visit

Matt is in Atlanta playing gigs this week and crashing  at our place.  He and Jared are drinking beer and playing video games galore.  I am doing my best to fatten him up.  Parker is having fun with his wild and fearless uncle showing him all of his newest tricks.  He had fun strumming his guitar the other night.

We went out to dinner the other night at the Marietta Square, and Parker had a blast running around.  He LOVED the fountain.  He was more than a little mad when it was time to leave.  Bless his sweet heart - he cried the whole walk to our car and for a few minutes once we got inside.

The Zoo II

Today we went to the zoo for our second time.  When we arrived, NO ONE was there.  It was amazing.  We got there right as the gates were going to open.  As a result, we could just let Parker run wild because no one was there.  He had a great time.  The first place he headed was to the play ground, and after that, he had no cares of exhibits; he just wanted to run around.  When we arrived at the tiger, who was in plain view, he wanted to chase a group of children.  He played hard and then crashed.  He cried the entire time on his second carousel ride.  Bless his heart - so worn out.

Parker LOVES the recycling signs above - he loves to point out all the letters on them.  He was too busy chasing after other kids to give the tiger any time of day.
Look at how the train makes this kid smile.  He loves it!

The Beach and the Richardsons

We just got back from our annual trip to Kure beach to visit Jared's Grandma and Pawpaw along with the rest of the Richardson crew.  On our way down, we were surprised to find that Parker had a fever.  Our first night there, we nursed and snuggled a very worn out Parker.  The next day he began feeling a little better, and we took our first adventure to the beach.

Parker really enjoyed playing in the sand on Friday.  He wanted to eat it, and he got pretty mad when I said he couldn't.  When Jared took him to the water, Parker ran as fast as he could away.  We went back to the house and waited for family to start arriving.

Saturday, we spent a lot of time at the beach.  Parker really enjoyed hanging out with Pawpaw on the beach.  After Pawpaw introduced him to the water, he just couldn't get enough of it.

He also had a lot of fun playing with everyone else.

Kirk and Nate doing a little fishing.
Parker really enjoyed hanging out with Uncle Matt.

After a day at the beach, we came back to the house to get ready for the shrimp pot!  It's a tradition.  While we waited, we listed to some tunes from Matt and Ashleigh.

After eating, we headed down to the beach to take some family pictures - what a great looking and happy family!  It was a great trip, and it's so wonderful to surround Parker with so much loving family.
