Maine 2009

Who could resist a place called the Fun-O-Rama? It's the money pit my parents never would have taken me to. Although, I don't think any game cost over 50 cents!

Short Sands Beach - the most crowded beach I've ever seen!

Crowd, crowd, crowd!

Awe, yeah! I rocked Jared at a little skee ball - 4 games to 2 games!

Jared playing pin ball - the machines at the Fun O Rama were so 1980s. They even had the fortune teller game from Big.

Not quite the arm wrestler...

Luckily, Jared is good enough for the two of us!

Jared's very powerful score.

A Silver Dagger Bluegrass (partial) concert in the yard!

Grillmaster Brad

Keith & Carolyn chillaxing.

Matt & Ashleigh doing their thing.

Me, trying to take artsy pictures.

Nubble Lighthouse - Brad and his brothers used to climb the rocks and swim between the island and mainland. Lots of great family memories here.

Jared discovering treasures with Anna and Grace.

Watch out guys! Don't get splashed!

Anna leading the pack.

Grace, Sarah and Anna

The girls were quite the rock climbers. Here they are showing us what strong & powerful spider monkeys they are!

Happy to be climbing the rocks!

Jared and Anna

On top of the world!

We went to Maine with Jared's family for his grandfather's memorial. While we were there, we got to experience lots of family fun, seafood (lobsta and clams), discovering beaches very unlike those we regularly visit, walking and exploring in cool breezes, a lovely lighthouse and beautiful historic architecture. Jared's dad and his brothers and sister all used to vacation at York beach. It was a last family vacation there at Jared's grandfather's request. It was a very special trip. We ate at the family revered Newicks and saw some of the old family hangouts and ice cream shops. I wish we could have stayed longer.
