Last Weekend

Last weekend was pretty low key and nice.  My mom was in town for a conference so she stayed with us Thursday through Sunday.  Friday night, we stayed in and ate wine and cheese that she'd picked up from Trader Joe's (as well as some wine from Jared's parents - they were with us in spirit!).  Saturday, Lisa came to take Parker's 6 mos pictures.  The sneak peek from those photos was great.  I can't wait to see the finished result.  After that, Jared and I left Parker with GranJill so that we could go bike.  We left right after we put him down for his nap, and guess what, we made it home before he even woke up!  We had a great time though.
We rode bikes on the Silver Comet trail for about half an hour.  It was great - it was flat and very well shaded.  It was a beautiful, sunny day.  All in all it was a fun time.  That night, we cooked birthday dinner for my mom.  For an appetizer, she had scallops wrapped in bacon (one of her favorite treats).  We followed that with seared tuna steaks, a salad, veggies and rice.  Dessert was apricot almond brie and crackers.

Sunday, Patrick and Jessica came to visit.  They'd gone to a Braves game the night before at Turner Field.  They got to watch a shut out there.  At our house, they got to watch a spectacular 9th inning win!  Oh yeah, they also got to visit with Parker.  I assured Patrick that Parker was pretty sturdy at this point, so he agreed to hold him.  However, he could not afford to make any funny faces at him - he's got a rep to uphold.  :)
I did think it was funny that Patrick was much sweeter to Jasmine than normal (he was never mean).  Now that he has a couple of dogs, he has become a "dog" person, and that cracked me up.  All in all, a good weekend!
